Beautiful view, friendly staff, spacious rooms

The location is out of town but it's very beautiful set up on the hill overlooking the ocean and Amanohashidate. The staff were friendly and efficient. There was free self-service sparkling wine (a very drinkable one) and beer on tap on arrival, which was nice (oh, also candy, coffee, soft drinks) and we enjoyed a glass. The rooms are large and those at the front (we did) have excellent views. The outside pool is nice, the onsen good too. The room staff in the morning were friendly and cheerful. I had business and took family along; we'd come again and stay here for longer. I think Daiwa is my favorite hotel group in Japan. I always feel welcome, there are always some special touches

The hotel is a little older and the rooms a little worn. This didn't affect our enjoyment; the trade off for large room and lovely warm atmosphere was fine, but people might want to know. The bathroom is a little small compared to the room. The one thing I don't like is sheets instead of futon covers. It always makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I hesitate to mention it as it was such a nice touch to get free drinks on arrival, but they were in plastic disposable cups. I understand real cups are harder to handle and require more staff, but disposables are not really in-keeping with the hotel's SDGs mission!

Beautiful ocean views in a very quiet location.

Large, comfortable room with wonderful ocean view. Fantastic indoor and outdoor onsen baths, a small swimming pool (summer only), a really nice bar/lounge, and various dining establishments. They sell delicious strawberries in the lobby that are freshly picked right next door!

Bar opened too late for us to enjoy a drink just before or after dinner. Great if you are traveling by car, not convenient otherwise as there is nothing within walking distance except a quiet beach.

Good

The pool was very clean and well kept. It was an enjoyable day playing in the pool. The grounds were very nice, and the view from the room was excellent. The staff was very helpful in letting us know about bus and taxi options.

The dinner buffet was very bad, especially for the cost (nearly ¥19,000 fro a family of three). The quality was cheap, most of the food oily and salty, and didn't feel fresh. The hotel advertises several restaurants, but they were all closed. It should be made clear that the dinner buffet is the only option for eating at the hotel.

a good hotel to stay and wait for nice view in the morning

we have to put on sheets for mattresses and covers for quilts by ourselves... and no breakfast for such a price (more than 22K JPY for one night) . but yes this is the best hotel in the whole area I think.

Comfy and suitable for families. Better with cars if u stay at the hotel.

Its a traditional japanese hotel with big rooms and nice seaview. You can find all amenities u need. Carpet was but old though. Location was a bit remote, u will need to drive 15 mins for restaurants or supermarket. The closest mall is mipple in miyazu. U can find some restaurant there for dinner.

Breath taking awesome views, quiet and peaceful place to stay. Do not come without a CAR.

The hotel once was a great property, and the views are breath taking! people are kind, but bare that noone speaks English and most of self-service has been implemented as possible such as collect your own amenities upon check in from the ground floor, for example. I love the location of the hotel, just be aware that if you do not have a car DO NOT come under any circumstance as there is no means for transportation, no combini close, no restaurants. So watch carefully your resources.

I stayed in this hotel at least six times in the past 5 years. I made reservation through booking.com twice. This time, I stayed for 4 nights and there are a list of things I did not like. They have a eco-policy that translates into a " funny" reward system. Upon check in, after you picked up your own toiletries and coffee from the ground floor, they offer a set of coupons for the value of 1,000yen per night of stay that you can use either for your room to be clean and set up (yes, change of sheets, vacuum, toilet set up etc) or to purchase souvenirs in their shop. All of that explained in Japanese language, so I only got to understand when I was ready to leave and I already had two nights sleeping on an untidy room, doing my own bed, changing my own towels, bringing my own coffee if I wanted to have it. I came to a 4 star for service, NOT for self-service. Second thing is that I did not find crystal clean the toilet-sink area, it had marks/stains of black bacteria in the places where you expect a prestigious hotel to watch for clean. I feel sorry because the personnel was wonderfully kind, but it does not means the sink was clean as expected. It was nasty to brush my teeth watching the crown of bacteria in the border of the sink. There was no CUPS in the sink area but disposable paper cups. It may be ridiculous, but then why this is a 4 star hotel? PLUS the shower was of very low water pressure, as the hotel is mean for onsen services, but I do not use it, I want a private shower, and this was not pleasant.

the location was amazing, and the view from the room was equally as great. also didn’t expect there to be strawberries, but gosh those were one of the sweetest strawberries i’ve ever had
